A surgical penile implant is basically a treatment for men having some erectile dysfunction (ED). This simple type of prosthesis basically consists of a pair of bendable and silicone rods that are surgically implanted within the narrow erection chambers of penis. Today, different men choose the hydraulic and inflatable prosthesis that will allow then to have an erection whenever they choose.
The inflatable penile implant usually consists of two types of cylinders, one is a reservoir, and the other is a pump that placed surgically in men body. The two cylinders are carefully inserted in their penis and then connected by tubing to some separate reservoir of the fluid. The reservoir is then implanted under their lower abdominal muscles. Then a pump is connected to this system and also sits under the loose skin of the scrotal sac, between their testicles.
To inflate the prosthesis, man presses on the pump. This does not put some kind of pressure on the testicles. Then the pump efficiently transfers the fluid from the reservoir to the cylinders in the penis, inflating them. Pressing on a deflation valve at the base of the pump returns the fluid to the reservoir, deflating the penis.
